Paper Made it Pretty ~ Jessica Hische's Wedding

I have to admit that I have a HUGE designer crush on the fabulous Jessica Hische! Everything she does is amazing! Her lettering skills and illustrations are picture perfect. I would definitely LOVE to have her mad skills when I grow up. She recently got married and her wedding was featured on 100 Layer Cake and it's no surprise that all the design elements were pure perfection! You can check it all out on the wedding website Jessica and her beau created but here are a few of the snippets that I adore...

Find Your Font-Mate ~ Laser Cut Letters


Okay..so it's not exactly a font but I just had to share this amazing laser cut letter! It's so intricate and beautiful! Don't you think it would make a great decoration for the back of the Bride and Groom's chairs at the reception?? And it's yet another thing you can take from your wedding and use as decor in your house. Simple place each letter in a frame with a dark background or no background for a sleeker look and hang on your wall. No cheesy wedding memorabilia here! Check with your local graphic designers or your wedding stationer and see if he/she can design a couple laser cut letters for you. You can also design your own and do a quick online search for printers that offer laser cutting.

Recycle Your Invite ~ Anniversary Wine Box

Ok, you spent all this money on gorgeous invitations for your big day so why not preserve a little piece of them to remember your wedding! If the life sized invite doesn't float your boat (which I can't believe!) and the paper quilt is a little too old fashioned...how about an anniversary wine box engraved with your wedding invite?? Super Simple Wedding Favor Packaging

With all the things you have to think about when you are planning your wedding, favor packaging can sometimes fall by the wayside! This is a bummer because it's such a great way to add one more personal touch to your wedding that will leave your guests with a great lasting impression. IF you have left your favor planning to the last minute, here is a super simple, super cute idea. Just head down to your local office store, grab some paper CD sleeves, bake some delicious cookies, sample a few of the cookies to make sure they are yummy enough, and put the rest in the CD sleeves. Print up a cute little label and there you have it. Easy as pie..or cookies in this case:)

{Paper} Wedding Color Palette ~ Emerald Elegance

And the 2013 Pantone Color of the Year goes to........EMERALD!! I have to say Pantone did a fabulous job with this choice! Emerald is a gorgeous jewel tone color that lends so much life to everything. It's so vibrant and elegant all at the same time. Color of the year or not, you are sure to have an amazing wedding if you incorporate a little emerald. Here are a few ways to do just that...with paper of course!

Incredible Hand Lettered Invitation Inspiration

Ok..so I've decided I want to be a hand lettering artist when I grow up! The things these people can create with pen and paper are simply stunning! Take this hand lettered invitation designed by artist and groom Drew Melton. Can you imagine having a fiance with this kind of talent!? The couple was inspired by the vintage elements of old newspapers and posters and designed the suite to have a timeless feel. I'm pretty sure I would frame this invite if I got it in the mail! And it's definitely one that would be AMAZING to enlarge and display as decor on the wedding day like this couple.

Find Your Font Mate ~ Chalkboard Lettering

So here it is (a few days late thanks to technical difficulties) the latest edition of Font Mate Friday. Still working out some kinks with the blog so there might be a few more delays. Thanks for hanging in there with me:) Have a fabulous week!!

Chalkboard details are everywhere these days and I can see why! There's just something very personal about the hand lettering that makes them perfect for weddings. It's also the hand lettering that makes them a little tricky to create on your own...unless your lucky enough to know a fab artist or you can afford to hire one. Have no fear! You can still incorporate this trend with a few great fonts and a little printing magic. Try using some of these chalkboard inspired fonts on a black background and there you have it! Put the paper in a pretty antique frame and you have your very own fancy shmancy hand lettered chalkboard. Just remember, desktop printers don't have white ink so it will just print the black background which means ALOT of ink. Try calling some commercial printers to see if any of them can print white ink. It might take you a little extra time but it will save you tons of ink.

Paper Made it Pretty ~ Personal Touches



I can't get enough of this gorgeous DIY wedding that was featured on Ruffled a bit ago. Photographed by Nine Photography, this wedding is FULL of great personal touches...most of which are made with paper:) I am especially crushing on the life sized invitation the couple had made to display on the wedding day. What a fun welcome! AND a great piece of decor for your new home as a couple. Just make sure you have decor worthy invitations for you big day! Details do matter!
